Menstrual stigma affects everyone.

Menstruation is a natural and healthy bodily experience that is stigmatized within our society. Our culture has branded menstruation as a “taboo topic” which not only makes it difficult to discuss outside of confined spaces, such as with a doctor or counselor, but hinders those in need of support and resources from getting the materials and education they need. Everyone deserves a dignified period. In order to achieve that, we need to end the stigma around menstruation.

2021 Donation Drive

Dr. Kartch’s Fall 2021 Gender Communication class is co-sponsoring a virtual donation drive in order to raise monetary donations that our community partner, Better Period, will distribute to a number of their local partners, including the Fresno State Student Cupboard and the Marjaree Mason Center, that serve populations that experience period poverty.
